Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I instruct you?

I am a Partner at Davis Woolfe, a Legal 500 firm where my team and I offer a genuinely tailored and personal service to each client.  We are happy to speak with any prospective client on a no-obligation basis.

Do you deal with personal injury cases on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis?

Yes, almost all of our personal injury cases are undertaken on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis.  We consider each case on its merits and advise on the best funding arrangement in the circumstances.  Many law firms take the maximum amount possible from their clients’ damages in every case.  We don’t do that and strive to ensure that clients keep as much of their damages as possible.

My legal expenses insurers are insisting that I use their own solicitors, but I would prefer to instruct a specialist.  Can I instruct you?

In a word, ‘yes’.  Most insurers will lean on their policyholders to use their own panel solicitors, but you have the freedom to instruct the lawyer of your choice and we can arrange with your insurers to fund your legal costs.

I have already instructed solicitors, but they are pressuring me to settle.  Can I get a second opinion?

Yes, in the first instance, please email a summary of your concerns and any relevant documents and we can arrange a no-obligation discussion.

I don’t have any witnesses to the accident I was involved in and the police were not interested in investigating.  Can you still help?

Yes, in many cases, there are no independent witnesses and the police do not investigate.

I was assaulted in a road rage incident. Can you help?

Yes, I regularly deal with civil claims for damages as a result of road rage incidents, either through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority or in the civil courts. I also have a special interest in helping the victims of violence secure compensation, including victims of domestic abuse.

What do I need in order to instruct you?

My contact details are available on the Contact Us tab. One of my colleagues or I will run you through everything we need in order to act for you.

I am a cyclist, but I was not injured in a cycling accident. Can you help?

Yes, although my focus is on cycling-related cases, I have many years of experience dealing with challenging cases and am happy to consider dealing with non-cycling accidents. If I am unable to take on your case, I am happy to recommend you to another firm more suited to your case.

What is DC Legal?
